Most patients and families praise Montowese's cleanliness, friendly staff, and strong physical therapy results. One reviewer regained mobility lost for 30 years; another's mother settled in comfortably. However, serious gaps emerge: a discharged patient developed an infection after early removal of wound care with no follow-up instructions; staff ignored family calls and said the patient was "not their problem" after discharge, leading to hospitalization. Another family reported a full day without meals and staff who were dismissive. Night-time calls go unanswered despite emergencies being common in this setting. Staff turnover and responding to family concerns remain inconsistent. When care works, it genuinely works-physical therapists are consistently praised, meals are thoughtful, and the grounds are maintained well.
