About this directory

What this directory is

The Greater New Haven Memory Care Memory Care Guide is an independent directory covering 53 memory care providers in the area, built for families who need to compare options quickly and want to know the comparison is honest. It’s meant for adult children, spouses, and caregivers trying to sort out which communities actually deliver good dementia and Alzheimer’s care, not just which ones have the biggest marketing budget.

This directory is published by Ondera Media, which puts out local business guides across Greater New Haven and ranks providers by quality rather than by who pays the most. Each listing draws on public business records and published customer reviews, refreshed monthly so the information doesn’t go stale. The idea is to take the guesswork out of finding a memory care community you can trust, the same way you’d want a straight answer when picking a plumber or a dentist.

How listings get built

Every profile starts with public business data: address, license status, staffing model, services offered, and similar facts pulled from official and public sources. On top of that, we synthesize what recent Google reviews say about a provider, pulling out recurring themes like staff responsiveness, cleanliness, or how well a community handles wandering and behavioral changes. We do not republish review text. If you want to read what people actually wrote, we link out to the provider’s Google listing so you can see it straight from the source.

How rankings work

Rankings come from a published rubric applied consistently to the data and review synthesis described above. There’s no manual thumb on the scale. You can read exactly how scores get calculated on our methodology page.

A business listed here can request corrections to its own facts, hours, license number, services, contact details, that kind of thing. What it cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or where it lands in the ranking. That stays under the control of Diego Cohen, Managing Editor, who oversees how the rubric gets applied across every listing.

Sponsorship, clearly separated

Some providers pay to appear as sponsors. Those spots are always labeled “Sponsored” and shown in a separate section from the earned ranking. Paying for a sponsorship never moves a provider up the ranked list and never changes its score.

About the enquiry side

Greater New Haven Memory Care Memory Care Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource, and it also helps connect families to care. When you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry along to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that connection. Those referral arrangements never touch scores or earned rankings. Details on how that works are on the quote page when you request a match.

FAQ

Can a memory care provider pay to change its ranking?
No. Providers can pay for a clearly labeled Sponsored placement shown separately from the earned ranking, but sponsorship never changes a score or a rank position.
Do you post the actual text of Google reviews?
No. We synthesize themes from recent Google reviews and link to the provider's Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself.
Can a listed business edit its own information?
It can request corrections to factual details like address, hours, or services. It cannot edit its score, sentiment summary, or ranking.
What happens when I request a match with a provider?
We pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may earn a referral fee for the connection. This never affects any provider's score or ranking.
